Protein :: The Muscle Making Stuff

Protein is what we need to build muscle. Science says we should eat one gram per pound or per kilogram (depending on the scientific source). We should always try to eat the amount of protein we need to build muscle - no more and no less. If we eat more protein than needed, the excess protein is stored as fat. If we eat less protein we eventually run out of 'gas' while working out. Everybody has to find the correct amount. There is no need to calculate the daily intake but the average per week, month, or year must meet the personal requirements. Fasting is not always the best treatment to the body. Ask your GP. We can survive three to four week without eating but this imposes a lot of stress to the body. Fasting is never recommended for children and older people.

Never forget Carbohydrates and Fat! We also need this ingredients. Carbohydrates (or just Carbs) deliver sugar - glucose - to the body; the only substance our brains weork with. Fat is needed to protect organs and it is also necessary to digest vitamins A, D, E, K.

Drink enough water! Its is essential for life. Without water you'll survive just three days. Water is needed to digest Vitamin B (the entire B-Complex) and C. The amount of water depends on temperature and humidity. The minimum is a quart (a liter) and the maximum (in very hot areas) can reach several gallons (!) a day. During Ramadan Children, older peaople and ill people need to drink during the day as well. Allah allows that.

What we do not need at all are drugs of any kind. Alcolhol, Nicotine, Marijuana, Heroin, Steroids, even Insulin for people with no diabetes can cause severe to fatal impacts on you. Gyms no never allow drugs for a reason.
